No-Cost Home Energy Efficiency Assessment
Income Eligible Energy Services: The Community Action Partnership of San Luis Obispo offers free services to lower income households and seniors.
Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP): Provides assistance for basic weatherization, plus health & safety repairs, and additional minor home repairs.
Energy Crisis Intervention Program (ECIP): Provides heater repair/replacement -for homeowners only, and only after homeowner has called the gas company to check appliances.
Energy Coach: Making energy upgrades to your home can be a confusing process, but help is just a phone call away. San Luis Obispo County residents now have access to free technical assistance via emPower's Energy Coach service. Assistance with Home Energy Upgrade Projects
Whole Home Energy Upgrade Assistance: You could get up to $4,000 in rebates through Energy Upgrade California. A qualified contractor will help you find the right program, do the work, and navigate the rebate process.
Solar: Find out about selecting a contractor and earning rebates for installing solar on your home through the California Solar Initiative (CSI).
No-Cost Way to Track Energy Use
Kill-A-Watt EZ Meters: Are your electronic appliances costing you too much? Find out with the Kill-A-Watt EZ Meter Lending Program. Kill-A-Watt™ EZ Meters are available for check-out from San Luis Obispo County Libraries. You can rent a meter free of charge just by using your library card.
Energy Tracking and More: Visit the Pacific Gas and Electric Company and Southern California Gas Company to track your home energy usage, learn personalized savings tips, and qualify for a free energy efficiency starter kit.
